The ring finger of a man who came to Jaffna from Batticaloa to visit a relative, was chopped off to rob his gold rings recently. In the incident which happened in the Pakkarai area of Jaffna recently, two armed robbers who entered the house had forcibly removed one gold ring from the man’s finger and as they could not remove the second ring from the finger, they chopped it off.
A complaint has been made to the Police and the value of the two rings stolen by the robbers have been mentioned as around Rs.250,000.
The injured person has been admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital. The Jaffna Police is conducting investigations into the incident.
