Protesting Kelaniya undergrads bailed

Nine undergraduates of Kelaniya University who were arrested by the Police and Anti Riots Squad during a student protest in the Kelaniya university premises on Wednesday night, were released on bail with sureties of Rs.50,000 each by Mahara Magistrate Kanchana Niranjala De Silva.

Kiribathgoda police produced the students in court yesterday. The protest was organized by the students demanding the release of Kelaniya University student Union President Kelum Mudannayake and student activist Dilshan Harshana.The case was fixed for June 3.
