G.C.E. A/L exam results to be delayed due to strike action - Minister

Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said in Parliament yesterday that the release of the results of the G.C.E. A/L Examination will be delayed by at least two weeks due to the strike launched by University academics.

The Minister also said that the University academics should not be confused between tax issues and the paper marking process.

Minister Premajayantha said this while participating in the motion at the Adjournment Debates moved by the Opposition on the franchise.The paper-marking process has been delayed by two weeks. Then, the results will be released after two weeks. We have to conduct G.C.E. O/L as scheduled in May. It will also be delayed by two weeks.

“Let’s keep the schools and universities functioning despite many obstacles. These problems will decrease in the future. If there are any shortcomings on the part of the Government, point them out. We are ready to correct them. We are of the position that there should be elections,” Minister Premajayanth said.
