United National Party (UNP) Divulapitiya organizer Kithsiri Manchanayake said that members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Pohottuwa are joining President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He made this comment while speaking at a press conference at Sirikotha, the party headquarters, on Monday (15).
Manchanayake also said: “In the British Parliament, its MPs have made positive statements praising Sri Lanka’s economic progress. They said that Sri Lanka is rebuilding its collapsed economy and bringing it to a good path, and as a member of the Paris Club, they expect to support Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring process. This can be said to be a very good trend. The US on one side, China on the other side, and India, Japan and Australia as well as other European countries have hinted that we can achieve our goals before the relevant time.”
“It is a matter of happiness that the members of Samagi Jana Balawegaya have decided to join hands in helping the President’s journey at this moment. MP Vadivel Suresh and former MP P. Harrison have publicly declared their support for the President. MP Harrison has said that in the next two months, almost all members of the SJB will unite and gather around President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The people of the Pohottuwa realize that Ranil Wickremesinghe is the leader who can rule this country. The President will also receive their support in the future. That support comes from being satisfied and happy with the programme being carried out by the President,” Manchanayake said.
