Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe held a successful discussion with World Rugby Union officials at the Sports Ministry yesterday (4).
The Minister with World Rugby officials discussed about the present situation of Sri Lanka Rugby and the possibility to take Sri Lankan rugby players to international tournaments in the future.
The Minister also discussed with local rugby officials of district and provincial level, coaches and rugby players about the World Rugby officials’ visit to sought out the rugby issue. The letter sent by the National Olympic Committee to the World Rugby Union already received by the world body was also confirmed by the world body officials yesterday.
David Carrigy International affairs chief official of world rugby union, Asian Rugby joint manager to World Rugby Union Ridzal Saat, Asian Rugby Federation Interim committee CEO Benjamin Vaan Rooyen Additional Solicitor General Sumathi Dharmawardena, attorney Rajitha Aluwihare, Rugby Constitution Committee’s Chula Dharmadasa and Sports Ministry Secretary K.Maheshan were present.
