The 31st annual National Construction Awards ceremony hosted by the Urban Development and Housing Authority under the instruction of Minister of Urban Development, Prasanna Ranatunga was held on Friday after a lapse of three years.
The primary purpose of the awards ceremony was to recognize and honor Professionalism and excellence in the industry and 65 awards were presented to under categories of Civil engineering and buildings, Electrical and Mechanical Construction, Regional Development, Green Construction related Projects initiated in 2020 and 2021. The construction industry is the second largest Industry in Sri Lanka contributing nearly 8% to GDP.
