First U19 Test at P. Sara Oval:Proteas struggle to 208; Sri Lanka 108-2

Sri Lanka Under-19 batted themselves into a good position scoring 108-2 at stumps after dismissing the touring South African side for 208 on the first day of the 3-day first Youth Test for the Gamini Dissanayake Challenge Trophy played at the P Sara Oval yesterday.

Sri Lanka Youth opener Vishwa Chathuranga was unbeaten on 59 and Sammu Ashan was on 31 not out at the close having so far associated themselves in an unfinished 63-run stand for the third wicket.

Earlier, the tourists batting first struggled to score runs on slow batting track losing wickets at regular intervals. Left-hander Ricardo Vasconcelos struck an unbeaten 78 that included two massive sixes and nine fours.
