A man arrested for allegedly maintaining a fake Facebook profile of Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara was released on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate' Court today.
The account was maintained by a person named Weeraseka Aarachchige Rajitha Madhushan Weerasekara residing in New Zealand, to mislead women.
He was ordered to be released on a cash bail of Rs.10,000, with a surety bail, by Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.
The CID commenced investigations into the incident consequent to a complaint by a woman residing in Kandy.
