An annual get-together and a felicitation ceremony were held at the Sainthamaruthu Pearls Reception Hall under the instructions of SLMC Deputy Leader and Provincial Council and Local Government State Minister H.M.M. Harees, recently.
Heads and members of Local Government authorities and journalists took part at the event.
The Minister thanked journalists and members of the Local Government bodies in his speech. The event featured speeches, songs and poems presented by the participants.
Ampara District Journalists’ Federation (ADJF) President senior journalist Meera S. Izzadeen, ADJF Senior Advisor, A.L.M.Saleem and ADJF Treasurer P.M.M.A.Cader were felicitated to honour their service to the community.
On the occasion, Sammanthurai Youth Congress Organiser Safeek Ismail presented a special award to the Minister to honour his recent appointment.
