IUSF convener remanded

Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF) Convener Maheel Dehideniya who was arrested by police over unruly behavior during the protest near Parliament Roundabout, was yesterday ordered to be remanded till March 18, by Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva.

Welikada Police informed the court that several police officers were injured in the protest by the IUSF on Wednesday.

The attorney-at-law appearing on behalf of the suspect requested bail for his client.

The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for March 18.
