Suspect with bag of gun powder arrested

Baduraliya Police yesterday arrested a suspect with a bag of gun powder. He is the brother of Madushanka Hapuarachchiage who was arrested in connection with dumping of a bag of hand grenades at Dickhenapura school in Baduraliya last Friday.

Police teams who searched the suspect’s house after the recovery of hand grenades from the school premises had found a bag of gun powder, batteries and ration packs used by the Army.

The suspect is to be produced before court today.

The main suspect, Madushanka Hapuarachchiage in the incident has been detained at the Colombo Crimes Division for questioning.
