PERINPANAYAGAM - SELVI - Friends and family bid farewell to Selvi Perinpanayagam, one of life’s rare personalities; rare for his multiple interests and pursuits as a cricketer, golfer, musician, lover of parties, hobby carpenter, chess player, adventurer and professional Tea-man. Rare because he kept wickets and immediately thereafter, would open batting, rare also because his fingers danced mostly on the black key of a piano. Selvi leaves behind the love of his youth and wife of many decades, Sandra (nee Mutthumani), the apple of his eye, Sonali, his pride and namesake, Selvi Jnr., and his son-in-law Atulan Navaratnam. Selvi was the loudest cheerleader and constant encourager of his grandsons Dmitri, Kiran and Jeshurun. He was the son of the late J.T.R. and Parimalam Perinpanayagam, brother of the late Chelvy, Mahen, Gnani and Swarnam (Sivaprakasam) and of Sounthy, brother-in-law of the Late Rosemary, Jean, George and David and of Patrick and Andrew. Selvi passed away peacefully in Toronto, Canada on 31st July 2019. Our parties will have to go on without Selvi at the piano.076860
