fine, six years’ suspended RI for theft

The suspect was fined Rs.1,000 and sentenced to two months’ imprisonment in default of the fine for stealing a heap of lime from the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre.

He was sentenced to six years’ suspended RI as well. A suspect, a resident of Dambulla, was produced before the Dambulla Magistrate’s Court recently by Dambulla police.

Court was informed that the suspect is a labourer of the centre, and he had stolen the limes, while he was working in the market.
