A new UNP election operations room titled ‘UNP STF’ was opened at the party headquarters Sirikotha by UNP Assistant Leader and Power, Energy and Business Development Minister Ravi Karunanayake yesterday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Karunanayake said the operations room was launched to provide information about the rapidly increasing response from the public received for NDF candidate and UNP Deputy leader Sajith Premadasa’s Presidential Election campaign from all parts of the country. “The salutary factor was that the operations room was functioning with youth power and energy,” he said.
While monitoring the Premadasa election campaign in all parts of the country, the UNP operations room would also identify areas where the campaign was weak and take immediate steps to invigorate it, Minister Karunanayake said.
He said all UNP Ministers and MPs were working as a team in complete unity to ensure the victory of Sajith Premadasa at the forthcoming election.
