Secretary, Mahaweli Ministry

Retired Major General Sumedha Perera has been appointed as Secretary to the Mahaweli Ministry.

 

The Ministry of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation and Rural Development is one of the most important ministries.

 

Major General Sumedha Perera was the former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army.

 

Maj. Gen. Perera was a distinguished officer of the Gajaba Regiment and had actively participated in almost all the military operations conducted against the LTTE and has been decorated with a number of gallantry awards for his role in various operations.
