The Police had arrested 75,531 suspects over various crimes including the possession of narcotics, firearms and explosives during island-wide raids conducted from June 6 to July 15, according to the police media division.
Accordingly, 9648 suspects were arrested with 13kg 361g and 236mg of heroin, 680kg 743 mg and 63g of cannabis was seized and 7064 suspects were arrested. Further, 4kg 266g and 91mg of Ice were seized during this period and 589 suspects were arrested.
Meanwhile, 154 suspects have been arrested over the possession of weapons and firearms.
Police said 12 suspects were arrested over the possession of 367g of explosives, 23 detonators and 22 hand grenades.
Another 14,583 suspects were arrested by the police during this period for engaging in the distilling of illicit liquor and 468,184 litres of illicit brew were taken into custody.
In addition, the police had also arrested 15,152 suspects who had arrest warrants issued against them while another 28,329 suspects were arrested over various other crimes, the Police Media Division said.
