The 35th Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne participating in religious observances after assuming duties yesterday.
C.D. Wickramaratne assumed duties as the 35th Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the Police Headquarters in Colombo yesterday. Wickramaratne has been serving as the Acting IGP since April 28, 2019, after former IGP Pujith Jayasundara was sent on compulsory leave following the Easter Sunday terror attacks that took place on April 21, 2019. Wickramaratne joined the Police Service in 1986, as an Assistant Superintendent of Police.
