Northern Province Governor assumes duties

Newly appointed Northern Province Governor Jeevan Thyagarajah said that he will implement 53 new proposals to transform the Northern Province into a secure, law-abiding and peaceful province.

He was addressing the media after assuming duties on Tuesday (12).

The Governor said that he will pay prompt attention to the injustice caused to the fishermen of the North by Indian fishermen.

He said that since the Fisheries Minister is also from the Northern Province, this issue will be resolved soon. The Governor said that he received 53 proposals to develop agriculture, culture, education and health in the North.
