Assistant Education Director (Non-formal Education) of the Akkaraipattu Educational Zone M L M Lafir retired from service after serving for 37 years. He was felicitated for the services rendered to all communities of the area by Akkaraipattu Educational Zone staf recently.
The ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Education Director (Admin) A G Fasmil while Zonal Education Director A M Rahumathullah was the Chief Guest.
Lafir who started his career as a teacher, was an In-service Adviser (ISA), Akkaraipattu Teachers’ Centre Manager and Assistant Education Director in the same educational zone.
Lafir's service to reinstate the dropout students was highly valued and appreciated on the stage. Assistant Education Director M L M Lafir was sashes with a golden shawl and awarded a memento and prizes.
A special souvenir, ‘Suvadu’, depicting the mile stones in his career too was released.
Deputy Education Directors, M M Sithy Fathima, A M Hazeen and P M Y Arafath, Assistant Education Directors, Divisional Education Officers and In- service Advisors were present.
