Remanded for displaying banned materials

The leader of the Tamil Activist Movement and owner of the Chenkaldy, Chellam Premier Theatre, Kanapathipillai Mohan who was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorist Act (PTA) for displaying banned materials of the LTTE in his Facebook and other social media has been re-reminded till January 12 by the Eravur Circuit Magistrate Karuppaiyah Jeevarani on Wednesday (29).

He was summoned to the Eravur Police in May 2021 after the inquiry produced before the Eravur Magistrate at that time and remanded under PTA.

The Circuit Magistrate made this order via Zoom because he could not be brought to court owing to COVID-19 restrictions.
