Earthquake hits Indonesia, no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka

 
An Earthquake has occurred in Indonesia last nght but it has no tsunami threat to Sri Lanka, said the Seismic Data & Tsunami Alert Centre (SDTAC) of Geological Survey and Mines Bureau.
 
The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 on the richter scale had occurred in  west of Pariaman, a town in West Sumatra province, Indonesia.
 
Earthquake that was 16 kilometers (10 miles) deep struck about 169 kilometers (104.8 miles) west of Pariaman, a town in West Sumatra province, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
