Dengue awareness programmes in Batticaloa

Manmunai North MOH Elayathamby Uthayakumar said that up to now, 240 people have been identified as Dengue patients in the Batticaloa district. Two deaths have also been reported from the Batticaloa district.

The Health Authority has been declared May 18-22 as the Dengue Prevention Week throughout the island. The Batticaloa Police together with the Army have been conducting awareness programmes in Dengue-prone areas in Batticaloa on the importance of keeping the environment clean.
