Brothers killed in clash between two groups

Two persons were killed and two others injured in a clash between two groups in the Nochchikulam area in Mannar on Friday, Uyilankulama Police said.

Police said that four persons were admitted to the Mannar Hospital with stab wounds following a dispute between the two groups and two persons succumbed to their injuries.

The two victims were brothers, aged 32 and 43, police said, adding that preliminary investigations had revealed that a dispute between two villages had led to the clash.

The injured are being treated at the Mannar Hospital and the bodies of the victims have been sent to the Mannar Hospital morgue for postmortem.

Uyilankulama Police are conducting further investigations.
