Petrol ship load delayed by a day - Minister

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday said that the fuel cargo carrying 40,000 MT of Petrol 92 has been delayed by a day.

“The fuel cargo carrying 40,000 MT of petrol scheduled to arrive early this morning has been delayed by a day. Limited amount of Petrol to be distributed today and tomorrow islandwide,”the Minister said in a tweet.

The Minister said auto Diesel will be distributed at full capacity countrywide. “There will be limited distribution of Super Diesel,” he said.

He added that US$ 34 million was paid on Wednesday for a cargo carrying Heavy Fuel Oil/Furnace Oil. Unloading of this ship was to begin yesterday and they would be used for power generation and industries.
