Woman killed in dispute

A 42-year-old woman of three children was allegedly killed by her husband in their residence on Sunday in a dispute, Dambulla Police said.

The deceased was identified as P.G. Geetha Kumari Karunathilaka, a resident of Thiththawelgolla, Kottawela.

The woman had a argument with her husband and he slashed her neck with a sharp weapon and fled the area, Police said.

Later Police found the body of the husband hanging from a tree at a nearby estate. Police believe he may have committed suicide,

Investigations are continuing.
