Twenty people injured and admitted to hospital

Danovita Police say that 20 people were injured and admitted to Warakapola Hospital in an accident involving a bus and a lorry at Horagasmankada area in Danovita.

A hospital spokesperson said the condition of one of the injured is serious. The accident occurred when a private passenger transport bus overtook another bus and collided with a lorry transporting gas cylinders.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed the accident occurred due to the fault of the bus driver. The police said that they are going to present the bus driver to the court.
