Lanka’s para-athletes clinch 4 medals including two golds, silver and bronze

Sri Lanka paralympians performed well at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai when they bagged two golds, one silver, and one bronze bringing honour to Sri Lanka.

Saman Subhasingheand and Anil Prasanna landed two gold medals in the 400m (T47) and 100m dash (T42), respectively, while their teammates, Indika Gamage in the 100m dash (T44) and Pradeep Somasiri running the 1500m (T46) increased Sri Lanka’s medal tally securing a Silver and a Bronze Medal respectively.

The Senior para athlete Anil Prasanna Jayalath finished 100 m T 42 first place clocking 13.50secunds to earn the gold medal while Japanese sprinter Katsuki Inagaki with 14.40 seconds and Thailand Kanrhinan Khumphong with 14.87 seconds finished second and third.

Sri Lankan four para-athletes were able to win one medal each to bring honour and it was a huge achievement said National Paralympic Committee Colonel Deepal Herath. Dialog Axiata who was the official sponsor of Para athletes gave big support for their success while Sports Ministry also associated with them.
