Court order against protesters entering Fort

Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday issued an order preventing a group of protesters including Ravi Kumudesh and Wasantha Samarasinghe from marching towards the Presidential Secretariat, President’s House and Finance Ministry premises.

The Magistrate made this order subsequent to a request made by the Fort Police yesterday. The protesters were also prohibited from damaging public property and obstructing the duties of public servants. The Magistrate instructed police to take necessary actions under provisions of the Police Ordinance, if protesters behaved in a violent manner.
