Eight arrested on assault charges

The Siripura Police arrested three Civil Defense Force personnel for allegedly assaulting two people and damaging a three-wheeler in which they were travelling after a musical show held in Kantale Suryapura on New Year's Eve.

On April 16, officers of the Siripura Police arrested eight people including a Civil Defense Force personnel and a sailor in connection with this attack. Accordingly, 11 people, including four Civil Defense Force personnel and a Naval personnel have been arrested in connection with this attack. The suspects are residents of Wan Ela. Police say that the Civil Defense Force and Navy personnel were on leave at the time of the incident.
