Kaluthavalai Kenadi Sports Club beat Free Lions Sports Club, Pottuvil cricket team in the final and bagged ‘Sutha –Wicky Memorial Champion Trophy -2023’ in the limited over cricket tournament which was conducted by Karaitivu Vivekananda Sports Club at the Vipulananda Central College play grounds, Karaitivu recently.
Karaitivu Vivekananda Sports Club has organized the tournament in memory of late K.Suthanithy and late V.Vikneswaran and to mark the 36th anniversary of the club.
Altogether 32 prominent cricket teams from the Ampara and Batticaloa districts took part in the tournament. The awards ceremony and final match were held under the patronage of the Karaitivu Vivekananda Sports Club President S.Nesarajah.
Kalmunai North Base Hospital Director Dr.R.Muraleeswaran participated as the chief guest at the award ceremony.
Champion team received Rs.30,000 cash prize and runners up team received Rs.20,000 cash prize along with trophies and medals. Karaitivu Vivekananda Sports Club Secretary K.Uma Ramanan, Sports Club officials and many others graced the occasion.
