Akkaraipattu Football League (AFL) will conduct the Goalkeeper Late N.T.Farook memorial champion trophy football tournament sponsored by ACE Club, Akkaraipattu at Public PlayGrounds, Akkaraipattu . The first match will be played on June 09th Friday.
16 Leading Sports Clubs football teams from the South Eastern coastal belt of Sri Lanka are to take part in the tournament. The Champion team will be awarded a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 50,000.00 and runner-up team a trophy and Rs. 30,000.00 cash prize.
Goalkeeper Late N.T.Farook was the Vice – President of Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) until his demise. A Class –I referee and a well-known Goalkeeper through the Island and former Vice –President, Kattankudy Football Federation.
International Football players from Akkaraipattu Retired Senior Superintendent of Police (RSSP) M.A.Nawas and Retired Principal A.G.Anver are the President and Secretary of the tournament committee promising a feast to football fans.
