Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that his party will defeat the false propaganda with the truth finally emerging victorious. He further said that our country had to face the present tragedy because the truth was defeated and the lies and falsehoods won.
“Such a thing should not be allowed to happen in the future,” he said.
Premadasa expressed these views while attending the occasion of providing smart classrooms to T.B.Jayah Zahira College, Colombo on the occasion of the 99th birthday of the late President Ranasinghe Premadasa.
“Even on social media, more responses are received to postings based on lies and deception, not to meaningful things. When there is such a situation in the country, eventhough the Government falsely says that the country will win with Information Technology, some schools in the capital do not even have proper computer facilities. Even if there is such a situation, social media is used most of the time for spreading lies and slander,” the Opposition Leader said.
Premadasa further said that even now, we must move forward without regret. For that, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya as an opposition party has been conducting programmes like Husma and Sakwala, even before coming to power.
