Woman knocked down in Viyaluva

A 67-year-old woman was injured after being hit by a bus at Ilukpitiya, Araava off Kandaketiya in Viyaluva recently. She was identified as a resident of Alakola - Araava in the Polgaha - Araava area off Araava. She was rushed to the Meegahakivula Divisional Hospital and then was transferred to the Badulla General Hospital.

It was revealed that she met with the accident while crossing the road after she got down from the same SLTB bus which hit her. Kandaketiya Police and Viyaluva Police are investigating.

They took the bus driver into custody.
