Japan relaxes travel advisory for SL

The Japanese government relaxed its travel advisory for Sri Lanka from level-2 (refrain from non-essential travel) to level-1(exercise sufficient caution) on June 25, the Japanese Embassy said in a statement to the media.

The travel advisory was relaxed “in light of the stabilisation of the security situation in Sri Lanka as a result of the large-scale and intensive investigations and security re-enforcement by the concerned authorities,” the statement said.

The Japanese government, however, continues to advise Japanese nationals to maintain sufficient vigilance during their stay in Sri Lanka with possible occurrence of terrorist attacks and other incidents of violence in mind, the statement said.
