Three suspected JMI members arrested


The Police had apprehended three more members of the banned organization, Jamathei Millathu Ibraheem (JMI), who had allegedly trained under the leader of the National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) Zahran Hashim, said Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Gunasekara noted  that the suspects were arrested in Ampara, based on information received by the by state intelligence service (SIS).

The first two suspects had received weapons training under Saharan Hashim in Nuwara Eliya and the other had participated in a weapons training camp in Hambantota, investigations carrid out so far have revealed.

The investigations are being carried out under the supervision of the Ampara Senior DIG.
