Certified results: School heads urged not to inconvenience parents, students

It has been reported that certain school heads have demanded students and parents to bring certified copies of the G.C.E.(O.L.) Examination 2019 results from the Department of Examinations to get the students admitted to schools for studying at G.C.E.(A.L) classes this year. Accordingly, B. Sanath Pujitha, the Commissioner General of Examinations in a special circular has requested all school heads not to harass the parents and students by demanding certified copies from the Department of Examinations.

Henceforth the school heads have to accept as genuine results-sheets of the students that are directly obtained from the website of the Department of Examinations. Daily students and parents visit the head office of the Department of Examinations, Colombo from very distant areas to get certified results sheets by paying a fee of Rs.600/-. Now there is no such need to do so and school heads are hereby instructed

not to put parents and students into unnecessary inconvenience by demanding certified copies from the Department of Examinations, the circular has emphasized the school heads.
