Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday arrived at the Police Unit of the Presidential Commission of Investigation (PCoI) into the Easter Sunday attacks.

Police officers attached to the unit recorded a lengthy statement from the former Prime Minister for over four hours.

“UNP General Secretary and former Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam also recorded a statement at the Police unit yesterday for over two hours,” sources said.

Officials had obtained a lengthy statement from former President Maithripala Sirisena too over the East Sunday attacks last week at his official residence at Paget Road, Colombo.
