A speeding car hit a 35-year-old mother and her 10-year-old daughter causing injuries to both and then fell into the ‘Diyawanna Oya’ near the Diyatha Uyana close to Parliament on Thursday night, Police said.
The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle has been arrested in connection with the accident, Welikada Police said.
According to the Police, the 35-year-old mother has sustained serious injuries in the accident and her 10-year-old daughter was hospitalized with minor injuries. Welikada Police are investigating.
