Oneli Samarawickrema powered her way into the final of the Girls’ Under-14 Singles event at the HNB-Hutch Clay Court Tennis Nationals, which continued at the SLTA Courts in Green Path yesterday.
Samarawickrema got off to a flying start and won the first set 6-2 and went on to add the finishing touches with a 6-3 win in the second set against Oneli de Silva in the semi-finals

Boys’ Under-18 Singles quarter-finals: Dilvan Herath beat Zaidh Zihar 6-0, 6-1. Thehan Wijemanne beat Hasal Ahangama 7-5, 6-4. Vichinthya Nilaweera beat Matheesha Nettasinghe 6-1, 7-5.
Girls’ Under-18 quarter-finals: Dahamna Methnadi beat Dewmini Warnasuriya 7-5, and retired. Dinethya Dharmaratne beat Nesangi Hemakumara 6-4, 6-4. Saajida Razick beat Vishmi Serasinghe 7-6 (6), 6-3. Hasali Gajaba beat Tania Doloswala 6-2, 6-1.
