Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said the coming week will be a decisive week for people since the proposed No Confidence Motion (NCM) against the Government and also the Impeachment against the President will be brought during this week. The Opposition Leader made these remarks at the SJB’s May Day rally conducted in Colombo.

Before attending the May Day rally the Opposition Leader placed a floral tribute to the statue of the late President Ranasinghe Premadasa.

Premadasa said unlike in previous years our country is witnessing a calamitous and disastrous Labour Day and the workers are celebrating a Black May Day today. Premadasa said the entire working class including health, farming, fisheries, estate transportation sectors are facing severe hardships due to the escalating prices of essential goods.

He said at this crucial moment when the prices of essential food items and goods such as fuel, gas and cement have skyrocketed people are eagerly awaiting to see who will vote in favour and against the NCM. The Opposition Leader once again reiterated that under an SJB Government, all culprits who robbed state resources will be brought to book and the money stolen will be recovered.
