NEC to meet Party General Secretaries today

The National Election Commission (NEC) will meet the General Secretaries of the political parties contesting the upcoming Local Government (LG) polls at the Election Secretariat today (24).

Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Rathnayake told the Daily News that matters pertaining to the conducting of a free and fair election will be discussed with the General Secretaries. 

“Among the topics to be discussed at the meeting will be the Regulation of Election Expenditure Bill which was passed in Parliament recently and the conduct of a free and fair election campaign and maintaining offices by the candidates and parties,” he said.
