Case against Thilini Priyamali to be taken up on August 11

The case filed against controversial businesswoman Thilini Priyamali for allegedly misappropriating Rs. 8 million was fixed for August 11 by the Colombo High Court.

When the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Adithya Patabendige, the defense moved from the Court to adjourn the case as accused Priyamali is receiving treatment at a Private Hospital.

After considering the circumstances, the Colombo High Court Judge ordered accused Priyamali to appear before the Court on the next trial day with an accepted medical certificate. The case will be taken up again on August 11.

The Attorney General had filed an indictment against Businesswoman Thilini Priyamali, alleging that she obtained a vehicle from a person named Samith Anuruddha, a resident of the Matara area and misused an amount of Rs.8 million by giving a check from a closed account in 2013.
