Three poachers arrested

Three persons were arrested with venison and flesh of wild boar in Anamaduwa on Wednesday.

Nawagaththegama Wildlife Officers arrested one person yesterday with locally made guns. He had used them to kill the wild boar in the Thalgaswewa Forest Reserve in Anamaduwa. The officers said the 30-year-old suspect was a resident of Thalgaswewa. The suspect had sold over 80 kg of meat that day, police said. Many other tools they used to kill the wild boar were seized. Nawagaththegama Police arrested the two persons in Uriyawa, Anamaduwa.

The suspects were produced before the Anamaduwa Magistrate on April 25.
