Citizens in dire straits now - JVP

Former JVP MP Dr.Nalinda Jayatissa yesterday said that the people have fallen from the frying pan into the fire.

He said that the people have faced inconveniences due to Gas, milk power, sugar and rice queues in the country.

“One day it is a fuel queue for the people, another day it is the gas queue, the cement queue, milk powder queue, sugar queue, rice queue.”

He added that 6.9 million people of this country voted for this government and gave them a Two-Thirds majority in Parliament. Dr. Jayatissa said that the government has been given enough power. “More powers were given through the 20th the Amendment to the Constitution”, he said. “Today, it is the same group that raises the prices of goods and creates a shortage of goods in this country. Although they make it appear in front of the people that they are divided into two, a shortage of goods is being created by these racketeering cronies,” he said
